MacPhisto: [sings] "Raindrops keep falling on my head... just like a guy whose feet are too big..." MacPhisto: "That's a good one. Rock 'n' roll, eh? Look what you've done to me! You've made me very famous, and I thank you. I know you like your pop stars to be exciting... so I bought these. Do you know who Monsieur Le Pen is?" Crowd: [shouts and whistles] MacPhisto: [sings] "Getting to knowww you..." MacPhisto: "I'm becoming even closer friends to him these days. Would anyone here have his telephone number? I like to make telephone calls from the stage too. Maybe if I called Monsieur Mitterrand, do you think he might have the telephone number?" Crowd: [cheer] MacPhisto: "I think we should try." [dials] MacPhisto: "Do you think Mr Mitterrand would be up this evening?" Man: "Président de la République [speaks French]." MacPhisto: "He-- er-- bonsoir. Parlez anglais, s'il vous plaît." Man: "Non, je ne parle pas anglais." Crowd: [shouts and whistles] Man: "I don't speak English." MacPhisto: "I'd like, I'd like to speak to Mr Mitterrand, if that--" Man: "Well that's impossible, ah? You must to write... to the President." MacPhisto: "Well, I... I, I'll, I'll explain to you, if you... I'll explain to you, erm, young man – I'm looking for the telephone number of Monsieur Le Pen." Man: "Uhh... I don't know Mr Le Pen." MacPhisto: "Um..." Man: "Mr Le Pen, he is not here." MacPhisto: "Would Charles Pasqua be in there, by any chance?" Man: "Mr Pasqua is, uh... to the Ministerie of Intérieur. Of police, if you prefer." MacPhisto: "Yes, Charles seems to be getting--" Man: "Here it's, er, Élysée Palace, non?" MacPhisto: "Yes, yes, okay... I, I-- but could I leave maybe a message for Monsieur Le Pen?" Man: "No. No, no, no, no. No no no. I can't take a message. You must to write to the President – okay?" MacPhisto: "I... I was just going to tell him: thank you for letting me back in the country." Man: "I'm sorry, I don't understand you." MacPhisto: "I'm back, you know. Can't you feel it?
